A closer look

Riiffs has given Momento a gold-and-black encore. Momento Liquid Gold arrives as a 100 ml unisex extrait de parfum, carrying the original’s saffron, rose, oud and caramel character into a more dramatic-looking bottle. It sounds tailor-made for anyone who likes sweet, woody Middle Eastern fragrances. The interesting question is how much has changed inside the bottle.

If Momento Liquid Gold is on your list, you can view the Jomashop offer for the 100 ml extrait.

What is Momento Liquid Gold?

Liquid Gold is a new entry in Riiffs’ Momento line. Riiffs’ U.S. product page identifies it as a 100 ml extrait de parfum and describes a unisex blend of gourmand sweetness, woods and oriental warmth. In Riiffs’ product photos, the familiar sculptural Momento bottle takes on a striking gold-to-black finish. Even at a glance, you can tell which version is which.

That presentation fits the name: the gold finish makes the fragrance look richer before you have even sprayed it. What it does not establish is a new performance level or a completely different formula. Riiffs calls both the original Momento and Liquid Gold extraits, so the concentration label alone is not evidence that this one lasts longer.

Momento Liquid Gold notes

The published note pyramid combines a bright, sugared opening with a floral-oud heart and a warm, woody finish:

OpeningSaffron, mandarin, sugar
HeartTonka bean, Damask rose, oud
BaseCedarwood, amberwood, caramel

Saffron and sugar set up a sweet-spiced opening, with mandarin bringing a citrus note. Rose and oud put a classic floral-woody pairing at the center; tonka and caramel keep the composition on the gourmand side. Cedarwood and amberwood give that sweetness a dry, woody frame. This is a reading of the listed notes, not a first-hand wear test: their balance and intensity will only become clear on skin.

How different is it from the original Momento?

Here is the detail worth knowing before you buy both. The Liquid Gold pyramid on our catalog page matches the top, heart and base notes that Riiffs’ Pakistan store publishes for the original Momento: saffron, mandarin and sugar; tonka, rose and oud; then amberwood, caramel and cedarwood. Riiffs’ U.S. description of the original also calls out saffron, rose, oud and caramel.

That does not prove the liquids are identical. Note lists do not disclose proportions, materials or how a fragrance develops. It does mean we should not promise an entirely new scent profile—or call Liquid Gold a stronger version—without a side-by-side wear test or a clearer statement from Riiffs. For now, the clearest confirmed change is the presentation, while the documented scent story remains very close to Momento. If you own the original, sampling first is the sensible move.

Who is it for?

Put Liquid Gold on your list if you enjoy saffron-and-oud fragrances with a sweet edge, especially when rose and caramel are part of the appeal. The listed notes point toward a warm, dressed-up style rather than a crisp aquatic or a clean citrus daily driver. The 100 ml extrait format and statement bottle also make it an eye-catching gift for someone who already likes this fragrance family.

Be more cautious if caramel-heavy scents usually feel too sweet to you, or if oud and rose are notes you prefer only in small doses. We have not tested projection, longevity or the amount of oud you will actually smell in Liquid Gold, and an extrait label is not a substitute for those observations.

Where to buy Momento Liquid Gold

Our Momento Liquid Gold catalog page has an exact-product Jomashop offer. Check the Jomashop offer for the 3.4 oz / 100 ml extrait and confirm current stock and price there; retail listings can change. The other retailer links on the catalog page are searches, not verified offers for this bottle. Riiffs’ own U.S. page listed the fragrance but showed it sold out when we checked, which is another reason to verify availability at the retailer rather than rely on a static price in an article.

Our take: Liquid Gold is a handsome new way into Momento’s sweet saffron, rose and oud world. The bottle gives it immediate presence. The note lists, however, leave the formula question open. If the original already lives on your shelf, treat this as a compare-before-you-buy release; if you are new to Momento, the direct offer gives you a clear starting point for checking the exact version.
