Giorgio Armani has introduced I Will, a new men’s Eau de Parfum built around bergamot, vanilla, and a smoky Woodleather accord. Rather than joining the Acqua di Giò or Armani Code families, the 2026 release arrives as a standalone masculine fragrance—and a potential new pillar for the house.
The formula is clearly aimed at the current appetite for warm woody-vanilla scents, but Armani is positioning it as more than a trend piece. According to the brand, perfumers Alberto Morillas and Nathalie Lorson spent four years and more than 2,800 trials developing the final composition.

Armani I Will fragrance notes
Armani’s official description centers on three ideas: the freshness of bergamot, the addictive warmth of vanilla, and the depth of smoky Woodleather. Early published note pyramids add more detail:

The structure starts with familiar masculine freshness, but it does not remain in “blue fragrance” territory. Lavender and sage reinforce the aromatic opening, while violet leaf can introduce a green, slightly metallic edge. The base is the real point of emphasis: vanilla brings warmth and sweetness, Woodleather adds smoke and texture, and patchouli gives the drydown a darker foundation.
What should Armani I Will smell like?
On paper, I Will should move from a bright aromatic opening into a smooth, sweet, woody-leathery base. The vanilla is likely to make the fragrance feel approachable, while the leather and patchouli are there to stop it from becoming a straightforward gourmand.
That puts I Will in a crowded part of modern designer perfumery. Warm vanilla, amber woods, and leather effects are proven crowd-pleasers, especially in cooler weather and evening fragrances. The question is not whether the note profile will be wearable—it almost certainly will be—but whether Armani’s execution gives the familiar structure enough refinement and identity to justify a new standalone name.
A four-year project from two major perfumers
The perfumer pairing is one of the launch’s strongest talking points. Alberto Morillas and Nathalie Lorson have extensive catalogs across designer and niche perfumery, and Armani says I Will required more than 2,800 trials over four years. That number is a brand-provided development claim, but it signals how much importance Armani is placing on the release.
The brand also describes I Will as “hyper-lasting” and cites a consumer test involving 69 men for a 24-hour scent trail. That should be treated as Armani’s performance claim rather than an independent longevity result; skin, climate, and application can change wear dramatically.
The bottle and refill system
I Will uses a restrained rectangular bottle with fully rounded edges, warm amber-colored fragrance, a black gradient across the shoulders, and a brushed-metal cap. It avoids the sculptural novelty bottles that dominate parts of the men’s market and instead leans into Armani’s architectural minimalism.
The bottle is refillable. Armani says purchasing the 100 ml refill instead of another complete 100 ml bottle reduces the associated packaging by 45% glass, 100% metal, and 3% cardboard.
Price and availability
As of August 25, 2026, Armani’s U.S. store lists the 100 ml Eau de Parfum at $170. Armani Beauty also lists a 100 ml refill at $145, alongside smaller bottle sizes.

Early reaction—and our take
Early fragrance-community reaction has been divided. Some wearers see I Will as polished, versatile, and easy to enjoy; others view it as another entry in the familiar sweet amber-woody designer category. Both readings can be true: originality and wearability are not the same test.
Our expectation from the disclosed formula is a confident, mass-appealing cool-weather fragrance with a fresh aromatic opening and a sweeter leather-vanilla drydown. The perfumer team and extended development period make it worth sampling, but the real verdict depends on balance: how natural the vanilla feels, whether Woodleather adds genuine texture, and how well the composition holds together beyond its opening.
