Which Ébène Fumé clone should you sample first?
Fragrance World Ebony Fume is our first clone candidate to sample for Tom Ford Ébène Fumé. Incense, palo santo, pepper, dark woods, and resins follow the same smoky direction. The opening can feel sharper, while the settled scent may be sweeter or put more emphasis on wood. Compare its texture with the original before choosing a bottle.
The reference is Tom Ford Ébène Fumé Eau de Parfum. Its character centers on palo santo smoke, pepper, resinous warmth, ebony wood, and a leathery undertone. That combination differs from the softer woody spice of Oud Wood and from a sweet, toasted vanilla fireplace fragrance.
Use an estimated 5–8 hours of detectable skin wear as a planning range for Ebony Fume, including the close drydown after stronger projection fades. Individual wearings can finish much sooner or last longer. A noticeable opening does not guarantee that the fragrance will continue projecting for the whole window.
Maison Alhambra Incense Ebony is another close clone candidate, with an incense-heavy, peppery, woody interpretation. Dunhill Egyptian Smoke offers a different balance of tea, rose, papyrus, and a warmer sweet base. Lalique Encre Noire à l’Extrême shifts toward earthy vetiver, cypress, incense, and balsamic woods. The last two are distinct alternatives, useful for exploring a smoky woody mood rather than reproducing every facet of Ébène Fumé.
